There are a few new products coming later this year from more mainstream board game companies dealing with starship combat.

Battleship Galaxies is a big one from Hasbro.  It includes 20 starship miniatures from 2 factions, game boards, ship cards, tactic cards, lots of counters and even a 48 page graphic novel to give you background on the conflict.  Projected release date is July 8th at game stores.

Next is Star Trek Fleet Captains from WizKids using Clix technology.  Each side has 12 ships and there are hundreds of command cards, mission cards, and encounter cards.  This is due out August 24th.

Then there is Battle Beyond Space from Z-Man Games.  This is a massive multi-player free for all space battle with 60-80 ships slugging it out at one time.  The combat is diceless and very deadly.  There will be plastic ship miniatures for all 80 ships, a game board and cards.  No release date has been announced yet.
